Body painting, X Factor, Down Under. Sounds a bit naughty right? If you saw last nights episode of the Australian X Factor you will know I am referring to Angel Tupai’s backup dancers.
Visually OTT, bold B&W graphics splashed with colorful prints where everywhere from costumes to lighting. The effect was an electric tribal vibe as Angel sang “Young Hearts Run Free.”
I joined the artistry team for this event to get those boys show ready with their skeleton body paint. Martin Bray a body painter pro and fresh in from Barcelona, heads the artistry team alongside Rimmel (the official sponsor for X Factor). His very talented assistant and friend of mine, Maria Milisavljevic drafted an asymmetric skeleton design for the dancers. The high energy and bubbly sense of humor from the performers kept the time flying as fast as the brushes were.
That day there was nothing funnier than watching the boys squirm while we painted their underarms!
To get the makeup looks you’ve seen on X Factor you can follow Rimmel stylist, Sarah Damichi backstage for some how to videos: http://au.tv.yahoo.com/x-factor/rimmel/
I had a great time being a body painter for the day. Hats off to the artistry team! I hope you enjoyed the show!

Meow Meow Kittah Meow! I think Faye Dunaway would approve.
Faye Dunaway in The Thomas Crown Affair.
Nude coloured nails are signature Faye Dunway look to me and soo 60′s! I love the scene in the film where she is playing chess with Steve McQueen, such supreme femininity in her hand movements. Women in the 60′s were looking for more natural shades of polish to match their nude lipstick and to differentiate from the trend of bright reds in the 50′s.
Classic as it may be, nude nail polish can be tricky to pull off with out looking dated. Even with the recent trends for the perfect nude nail there are still so many unflattering shades out there. Either too orange, pink or brown they can make your nails look dirty or unhealthy. So which one do you choose to make this classic look work?

I had a’ love at first sight’ reaction to Christian Louboutin heels and the same reaction towards the nails. I hadn’t tried this look before as my nails are usually to short. Now that they longer I had to give it a go. I decided to try a new range of nail polish, a line called Darling.
Darling is my new FAVORITE nail polish! The texture is so smooth and it glides on perfectly. I don’t think I could streak it if I tried! I will have to do a post about Darling as I could go on for days about their polishes, I’m in love!
This is such a sexy and simple look to do. I hope you enjoy!
The colours I used:
Sir English – Black
Wedding Crasher – a true blue Red

Le Magazine cover shoot.
It is always nice to have good weather for an outdoor shoot and aside from the wind, we had perfect conditions to get some gorgeous shots.
Keeping the makeup light and fresh we went for a pure pop of colour on the lips. I used my all time favorite bright pink ‘Carthage’ by NARS to go with le Black Books latest neons.
Sarina Del Fuego, what can I say, she is one of my favorite people! So kind, easy to work with and a close friend. Being a performer she always has a bold vision for shoots and her H&MU. These are a few before photos that I thought were quite nice, from photographer Cynthia Sciberras. The idea was to get Sarina Del Fuego in full show girl mode to take her to Kings Cross train station for an impromptu art shoot. My favorite shot from the day was a candid one of Sarina’s eating a slice of pizza in her red sequinned showgirl costume. I doubt she would let me post it but, it is great!
